I have to ask, how do you keep your donkeys so trim? I'm in Illinois and its an ongoing battle to keep my little guy at his right weight.
Hi Betsey,I read a while ago that apparently the easiest 'bad' thing you can do to your donkey is let them get fat - and that it's so easy to do, especially when they love treats. If you have a little donkey, it's probably even easier.Donkeys are very thrifty eaters, and they don't need a whole lot of food. We limit the treats we give ours, but I think the main reason they stay trim is because they get lots of exercise. Donkeyland, where 6 of our 7 donkeys live now, is about 15 acres, and they often run up and down the field, playing and just having fun - or racing toward the treat bucket. ;)
