  2. Is is where you chop your wood? It looks like you've got little chips chopped out, but then, what do I know? I live in an apartment.

  3. Okaaay, so it appears to be some kind of rock. One that is starting to come apart along some awfully regular lines. Almost looks like crystals of some sort. Could it be sandstone maybe? That tends to come apart in sheets kinda like that.

    Someone call a geologist!

  4. Hi All,
Okay, it's a large rock (maybe three or four feet across) that is up along the edge of the driveway. I've never seen any other rocks like it. It appears to be just sitting there, falling to pieces. Haven't used it as a chopping block, don't think it's been frozen or wet any more than all the other rocks around. Anyway, I just thought it looked cool. I put the second photo up to give some perspective.

What can I say? Maybe something was lost between the driveway and the computer. I come upon lots of (what I think are) interesting things in the woods. Sometimes I'm surprised by the amazing response they receive, and, well, sometimes there are obviously a whole bunch of people out there thinking, "What's with the rock?" : )

  5. Oh, I definately think it's interesting! I'd probably take a picture of it myself if I came across a rock looking like that. I'm just curious as to what kind of rock it is and what makes it fall apart like that!

December 2015 update: Hi! For some reason I can't figure out, Blogger hasn't been letting me leave comments on my own blog (!) for the last several months, so I've been unable to respond to your comments and questions. My apologies for any inconvenience! You're always welcome to email me: farmgirlfare AT gmail DOT com.

Hi! Thanks for visiting Farmgirl Fare and taking the time to write. While I'm not always able to reply to every comment, I receive and enjoy reading them all.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and I especially love hearing about your experiences with my recipes. Comments on older posts are always welcome!

Please note that I moderate comments, so if I'm away from the computer it may be a while before yours appears.

I try my best to answer all questions, though sometimes it takes me a few days. And sometimes, I'm sorry to say, they fall through the cracks, and for that I sincerely apologize.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope you enjoy your e-visits to our farm!
