Trivia Tidbit (carried around since grammar school):
This is the only day of the year that gives a command.

  1. What about:

    "May one?"

    Archaic, but proper.

  2. Hi Kat,
Oh my gosh, I hope not, too! I usually have plans on full moon nights. ; )

I just sometimes wish they could speak! I have a feeling tonight is going to be a very long night. I'm about to go back down there in a few minutes--as soon as the giant flashlight is powered back up from the last trip an hour ago, LOL. : )

    Hi SRHCB,
So nice to hear from you. Ahhhh, good one. And yes, you're right. But it doesn't actually give a command, though does it? : )

  5. Awwww, I thought it was March Fourth (Forth)! I still don't get "May One"... oh well. LOL.

  6. Hi Jeff,
I don't know why, but I just love that little tidbit. The best was when I told someone whose birthday was March 4th and they'd never heard that--they were tickled! : )

    Hi I.G.O.,
LOL, what is it with these girls? Don't their babies want to come out? : )

    Hi Melissa,
It is "March Fourth (Forth)!" You got it. : )

"May one" would be beginning of a sentence, as in "May one please have another chocolate babycake?" Like srhcb said, it's archaic sounding, but proper. (At least I think that sentence is correct. You get the idea--and the person being asked the question definitely would!) : )

    Any others out there?

  8. I can't believe someone besides me has carried around that old March 4th tidbit! All day long when someone asked me what the date was, I answered, "The only day that is also a command!" (Then they'd stare at me blankly...)

Somehow in my mind, that bit of info seems tied to this one:

Where did Hitler keep his armies?

    Up his sleevies!
