Sunday Farm Photo: Bunnies in the Barnyard

Peter, Is That You?

We're being taken over by rabbits. I've seen at least three of them scampering around the sheep barn during the last few days. Now that Robin has gone into semi-retirement, we have cute little varmints everywhere.

  1. I'm always conflicted about rabbits - I don't hate them but they can decimate a garden in such a short time. Yours look a big on the lean side - wouldn't it be nice if you could just sow some leafy stuff for them and say "that's yours leave ours alone"?!

  2. Perhaps too scruffy... but dang, buns are yumz.

  3. I'm sure everyone else is thinking, "Awww, what a cute bunny." Know what I was thinking? "There's one of those little bastards that ate all of my peas." Grrr.

  4. At MY house they're called DBs, damn bunnies. Having a dog helps though this time of year, they drive her crazier than even the squirrels and the new DC (damn chipmunk) that's taken up residence below the front step. "Cute" maybe but also destructive.

  5. The bunnies like our yard; we're the only one on the block without a dog. We fence in anything "bunny-edible" so we can enjoy the cuteness without conflicting emotions.

  6. I've never seen a wild rabbit; I like the colorful coat on this one. I don't have a garden, so I don't hate the poor fellas...also, I used to have a pet bunny :).
