Thursday Dose of Cute: Breakfast Company

© Copyright 2009 FarmgirlFare.com, the soft landing foodie farm blog where one of the only sheep memories I have from my pre-farmgirl days is of taking a favorite back road parallel to Highway 101 in Sonoma County (the name of which I've completely forgotten, despite the fact that I used to drive on it all the time—I'm thinking it was Old Highway Something or Other) and seeing black birds sitting on the backs of sheep. For some reason I just thought it looked really neat, and I love that this sight—which never ceases to delight me no matter how many times I see it—is now a part of my life.

  1. I think it's something to do with how nature is just getting along. It feels (looks) tranquil for some reason...I love it too. I also love the white birds following the tractors in the field eating things in the fresh cut grass.

  2. I truly love all of your photos - animals (all of 'em!), your gardens, recipes, rocks, The Shack, fresh made bread (yummmm!), the beautiful countryside - well, the list is endless, but they are all so amazing and I really appreciate that you share them with us. Thank you.

  4. Like a country version of an African safari where you have blackbirds on the backs of sheep rather than on the backs of hippos.

And I think I may know which road you're referring to. At least it sounds a lot like Old Petaluma Hwy that I still take nowadays to go out to Bodega.

    Love Sonoma Cty.

  5. Farmgirl, I just discovered your blog and have to say it's one of the most refreshing "food blogs" out there! It's nice to see the perspective of someone who's not just on the consumer end of the chain...not to mention your pictures are beautiful!

December 2015 update: Hi! For some reason I can't figure out, Blogger hasn't been letting me leave comments on my own blog (!) for the last several months, so I've been unable to respond to your comments and questions. My apologies for any inconvenience! You're always welcome to email me: farmgirlfare AT gmail DOT com.

Hi! Thanks for visiting Farmgirl Fare and taking the time to write. While I'm not always able to reply to every comment, I receive and enjoy reading them all.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and I especially love hearing about your experiences with my recipes. Comments on older posts are always welcome!

Please note that I moderate comments, so if I'm away from the computer it may be a while before yours appears.

I try my best to answer all questions, though sometimes it takes me a few days. And sometimes, I'm sorry to say, they fall through the cracks, and for that I sincerely apologize.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope you enjoy your e-visits to our farm!
