Friday Dose of Cute:
Why I Don't Landscape the Front Yard

At Least She Spared the Nearby Surprise Lilies

The Dirty Paws Totally Bust Her—and Don't You Just Love the Pillow Rock?

Want to get to know our beagle baby better? You'll find links to lots more photos of 12-year-old Robin here.

  1. Oh, sweet beagle baby! I had a tri-colored name Oliver. He was a mess! But that beagle face and personality gets them out of hot water every time, doesn't it?! :o)

  2. We have a new hound ourselves and the digging up the flowers must be a shared trait! My coral bells may not survive and I lost a cuke transplant due to a couple of "Bella holes" but she's so adorable that I can't be too mad at her. Our girl is half bloodhound and half coonhound and full-on cute.

  3. My dog does the same behind my ferns. It's hard to get mad when you know we would be seeking cool too if we were outside with our fur coats.

  11. What a cutie! Can't scold that pretty face. Thank God, my cats are not into landscaping.

  12. You just have too much undirected help. He couldn't possibly look so tired if he hadn't been trying to work so hard!
Mine just seems to hit and run, clean his paws, and act innocent :-)

  13. So cute! I love your pics and recipes. We have 3 dogs that love to tear up our backyard, but they are so cute it's tough to get mad at them. One is a beagle too-gotta love the beagles!

  15. I love Robin :) She reminds me of our old beagle we lost about a year ago to old age. He was 16 (ish, hard to tell with a rescue sometime) and was also bleaching out in the face. Old dogs RULE!

Susan- Most of those irises should come back since it looks in the photo that Robin left the rhizome part. When she's done with her nap just level the area back out on the surface and walk over a few times. You're lucky enough to live in So. Mo. your irises don't have to be more than 6inches below like up here in Chicagoland. cheers!

December 2015 update: Hi! For some reason I can't figure out, Blogger hasn't been letting me leave comments on my own blog (!) for the last several months, so I've been unable to respond to your comments and questions. My apologies for any inconvenience! You're always welcome to email me: farmgirlfare AT gmail DOT com.

Hi! Thanks for visiting Farmgirl Fare and taking the time to write. While I'm not always able to reply to every comment, I receive and enjoy reading them all.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and I especially love hearing about your experiences with my recipes. Comments on older posts are always welcome!

Please note that I moderate comments, so if I'm away from the computer it may be a while before yours appears.

I try my best to answer all questions, though sometimes it takes me a few days. And sometimes, I'm sorry to say, they fall through the cracks, and for that I sincerely apologize.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope you enjoy your e-visits to our farm!
