Friday Dose of Cute: Got any Weekend Plans?

Hens hanging out - FarmgirlFare.com
Or will you just be hanging out?

Have a fun one!

More chick pics? Here.

© FarmgirlFare.com, where this photo captured the edge of our conveniently located, ever-so-useful chicken catching net, which has been coming in very handy lately, since some of our escape artist hens, including our black chicken of the sheep flock (who misses her sheep, which are currently living out in the front field), have decided to play musical coops. Fishing nets: they aren't just for fish anymore.

  1. One of my friends raises chickens, and introduced me to fresh chicken eggs. They are glorious. I never saw green, brown and egg eggshells all from the same flock. She had to use reinforced wire mesh to keep the chickens and rooster from escaping (which they did), several times.

  2. Hi, I've been reading with great enjoyment, your blog, and want to say thanks for the wonderful recipes. Tomorrow I am making the Farmhouse White Bread, for the Christmas weekend. Also, I made your Soft Molasses cookies... they are the best! I cut the baking soda to 2 tsp. and it worked out just fine. Yummy! Wishing you a wonderful Christmas, and happiness in the New Year.

  3. I LIKE the chicken catching net! I have a friend coming to pick up my older hens and I was stressing over how to catch them all! :)

January 2013 update: I know word verification is a big pain, but it's the only way I can stop the ridiculous number of anonymous spam comments I get every day. I don't want to require commenters to be registered Blogger or Open ID users because I know many of you aren't. Thanks so much for your understanding!

I try my best to answer all questions, though sometimes it takes me a few days. And sometimes, I'm sorry to say, they fall through the cracks, and for that I sincerely apologize.
