Monday Dose of Cute: How Do We Celebrate Birthdays on the Farm?

Wet Bert 6 -
By doing as little as possible.

You guys are the rain dancing/hoping/praying best. As I was finishing up yesterday's post, I heard a little thunder. Less than a half hour after I hit publish, it was raining. Best birthday present ever. Plus I didn't have to water the garden.

We only ended up getting about 1/4 inch of rain, but it was still exciting, as you can see from the soggy beagle Bert blur below. He'd just come in from his morning route through the wet grass and is doing the horizontal happy dance on his beloved Coolaroo (best pet purchase ever).

Five more photos below. . .

Thanks, too, for all the nice comments and birthday wishes you left in yesterday's post. Like I said, you're the best. And if you don't mind, please keep sending that rain.

And now, back to the party!

  1. Happy birthday again, Susan! I'm so glad you got rain. Here's hoping for more, and more, and more!

  2. Birthday Week continues for our Farmgirl; Bert looks rejuvenated after his dip and romp on that spectac-nificent bed of his. Your recommendation means a lot.

  3. Looks like a great way to spend the day to me!

  4. Happy Belated Birthday!!! We got rain today, I was so excited, I got a little teary-eyed!

  5. Happy Birthday!!
Hoping for more and more of that rain :)

  6. Yay! Just shows you can send positive waves, but you need more more MORE!, so Farmgirl Fans, keep the wishes and prayers coming!!!!! PS Man Bert is cute and I'm hoping my two hounds don't catch a glimpse of that Coolaroo bed.........

  7. Happy Birthday Farmgirl Susan. I feel that I know you and your farm family and have been worried. May the rest of summer bring rain and relief.

  8. YAY for birthday rain!! :)

  9. Sorry to be late. I hope you had the best birthday ever! You are my special online friend and I hope all your birthdays will be full of joy and love (and rain when it's needed).

December 2015 update: Hi! For some reason I can't figure out, Blogger hasn't been letting me leave comments on my own blog (!) for the last several months, so I've been unable to respond to your comments and questions. My apologies for any inconvenience! You're always welcome to email me: farmgirlfare AT gmail DOT com.

Hi! Thanks for visiting Farmgirl Fare and taking the time to write. While I'm not always able to reply to every comment, I receive and enjoy reading them all.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and I especially love hearing about your experiences with my recipes. Comments on older posts are always welcome!

Please note that I moderate comments, so if I'm away from the computer it may be a while before yours appears.

I try my best to answer all questions, though sometimes it takes me a few days. And sometimes, I'm sorry to say, they fall through the cracks, and for that I sincerely apologize.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope you enjoy your e-visits to our farm!
