A few weeks ago I noticed that after several years of tough use—including some late night treks down to the barn one lambing season—my ratty old Crocs were looking really ratty and worn out. I was going to buy another pair of Mammoths, but after trying a few different styles of work Crocs (thank you, free shipping and returns!), I went with these Mercy work clogs instead. I love the graphite/lilac, but they come in other colors too. I guess the white ones are really popular with health care workers.

January 2013 update: I know word verification is a big pain, but it's the only way I can stop the ridiculous number of anonymous spam comments I get every day. I don't want to require commenters to be registered Blogger or Open ID users because I know many of you aren't. Thanks so much for your understanding!
Hi! Thanks for visiting Farmgirl Fare and taking the time to write. While I'm not always able to reply to every comment, I receive and enjoy reading them all.
Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and I especially love hearing about your experiences with my recipes. Comments on older posts are always welcome!
Please note that I moderate comments, so if I'm away from the computer it may be a while before yours appears.
I try my best to answer all questions, though sometimes it takes me a few days. And sometimes, I'm sorry to say, they fall through the cracks, and for that I sincerely apologize.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope you enjoy your e-visits to our farm!

My feet sometimes, okay often, hurt by the end of the day too. I will definitely check these out further. The price is good too! If I buy, I'll link to Amazon from here! :)
ReplyDeleteHey Candy,
DeleteI think you'll like them. The only thing is, sometimes I end up taking my work boots on and off all day long because I want to spend every minute I'm inside wearing my comfy Crocs, lol.
I would like to recommend Merrell clogs - they are amazing for everyday wear and come in a variety of styles - leather, suede, pigskin, and mesh for health workers. You can also buy cushioned mats to put on the tiled floors.
ReplyDeleteHi Rachel,
DeleteThanks for the recommendation. Those Merrell clogs do look comfy - but a little too fancy for the farm. ;)
Thanks, too, for the reminder that I forgot to mention the little floor mats we bought for the kitchen, which help as well - when I get to actually stand on them. I have to fight the dogs - and cats - for them, lol.
Definitely worth looking into. I think I would want an indoor pair and an outdoor pair (just for stepping out to the hen house or wood pile - real boots would be needed for any serious outdoor farm work). Thanks for the suggestion.
ReplyDeleteHi nrlymrtl,
DeleteYeah, I'm trying to just wear these indoors, though I keep wanting to wear them to town because they're so cute - and of course sometimes I don't realize I still have them on until after I'm already out in the farmyard.
My old Mammoth Crocs got kind of trashed wearing them outside, but now they've been designated as the official 'stepping out' shoes for when, like you say, you're just running out and don't need boots. Having two pairs works out great. :)
I've broken bones several times in my left ankle and foot. I'm also on my feet alot and I pay for it at the end of the day. A friend recommended Crocs a few years ago. Since then I either wear them or go barefoot :-) I have these Mercy Crocs and I LOVE them! Not only are they super cute and comfortable... the soles have great traction. I hope you enjoy yours and that they give your feet some relief.
ReplyDeleteSo smart (AND fashion-forward!!).. this is such a great suggestion for anyone on their feet in the kitchen.. or elsewhere (always see nurses wear clogs in the hospitals).. Glad you are supporting yourself and in good care my friend.
ReplyDeleteLove to you,
Lisa
Oh, my goodness, yes! Shoes are important if you're standing a lot. I'm an elementary teacher; I now teach online, and that's the biggest difference. I'm sitting rather than standing all day. I can stand if I want to, and I can also wear cute shoes. :)
