My goodness, that's a lot of trick-or-treaters at your door. I bet it was lots of fun seeing all the costumes, though. And Harry Potter, too? Definitely perfect. : )

Hi Alisha,
: )

Hi Karen,
Thank you very, very much! : )

Hi Cookiecrumb,
Number One Rule regarding Halloween candy: only buy what you like. : )

Hi Baking Soda,
No need to apologize for taking up space. I loved reading about your holidays--and even more, I loved imagining you unknowingly opening the door in January and finding yourself confronted by a group of kids all dressed up and singing. Two days after reading that for the first time, the image still makes me smile. I love your sense of humor.

Hi Amy,
Thanks. Last I heard, Halloween ranked second only to Christmas for decorating and (I think) celebrating. Boo!

Hi Obachan,
Thank you! Always nice to hear from you. Sounds like Halloween is taking over the world. : )Farmgirl Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04851855517852917202noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12997259.post-1130859449301913712005-11-01T09:37:00.000-06:002005-11-01T09:37:00.000-06:00Happy Halloween! One for him to keep and the other for the beggar to keep him warm.
This is a fun subject for a post, I will further explain on my blog...soon! In the older days there were carved beets involved, see the link with pumpkins?
Sorry FG to take so much space...Karen Baking Sodahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10648275442628223581noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12997259.post-1130828431966380522005-11-01T01:00:00.000-06:002005-11-01T01:00:00.000-06:00Kat that sounds like fun! Halloween is dawning upon us slowly, for the moment Holland is only decorating not trick or treating but we do have St Maarten in some parts of the country (11th nov.) where kids carry lanterns and sing and get candy in return. In other parts (big country you know :P) we celebrate Driekoningen (6th Jan) and kids dress up like the three wise men, sing and get candy. Quite confusing when you grow up in one part, move to another and find yourself with a bowl of candy and no kids to give it to in November and unknowingly open the door in January and are confronted by a group of kids all dressed up and singing.....Karen Baking Sodahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10648275442628223581noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12997259.post-1130824085250536252005-10-31T23:48:00.000-06:002005-10-31T23:48:00.000-06:00Goosebumps.Hoo.So -- We're in the new home, a frie...Goosebumps.
Hoo.
So -- We're in the new home, a friendly, flat-terrained townhouse complex, with ample front-porch lights (unlike our previous home with unlighted steep hill approach, where no kids ever ventured).
