Who do I think will have the next baby? It's hard to tell. Mary looks like she's been about to pop for over a week. And Frederica's bag (udder) keeps getting bigger and bigger. But there are lots of others out there, too, who may surprise me. I have some photos and hope to put them up in the next day or two. Hope. : )

Hi Shephedgirl,
Personally, I think all-white sheep are bor-ing, but that's just me. : ) My original plan was to have an all colored wool flock (and spin the naturally colored wool). Although the cute colors and chocolate chip spots on the lambs will fade soon (and the all-black sheep will turn brown--or even white sometimes, like Teddy), most of mine will keep those dark legs and faces because our ram is a black-faced Suffolk.

Oh my. Ear tagging. Almost as much fun as docking tails and castrating. Eartagging is a two-person job around here, and I am the one who holds the lambs (not as easy as it sounds). My advice to you--hold on very tight to all four little legs! : ) And good luck with the deer proofing. Our dogs do a tremendous amount of deer patrol, but some of them are incredibly brazen and will stop at nothing to get to your precious garden bounty. Grrrrr.

Hi Keewee,
It's not easy being on the job 24/7. : )

Hi Sha,
He really is an amazing dog. And some of the sheep realize this. The other ones can't stand him. But he doesn't mind. He loves them all.

Hi Abe/Happy,
LOL, that's cute.
