Monday Farm Photo: Hello Crocuses!

What a Lovely Little Surprise

© Copyright 2009 FarmgirlFare.com, the naturally color coordinated foodie farm blog where a huge display of flowers is always gorgeous, but around here more often than not just two little ones will do (especially when they're bulbs you planted years ago that only bloom once in a while)—and the reason I'm still awake this late is because I have a pear cake in the oven (and a cookbook deadline looming). But at least I know what will be on the menu for breakfast!

  3. Two small blooms are a sign of something bigger - spring is coming and there are signs of it for sure.
I'm still so excited for you about the cookbook, I can't wait to see the end product. Pear cake for breakfast.... mmmm.

  10. Late night baking is something I enjoy. Just me, the oven, and whatever's in it baking away! Around here, plants have to be tough enough to survive the ducks and chickens to bloom.

  13. This took my breath away!! It is zero degrees with biting winds here in WI today, so seeing the crocus gives me hope spring will eventually get here.
    Thanks!

  14. hi!

I just read your profile, and plan on looking at lots more of your recipes and posts, but I just wanted to say your life sounds exactly like how I want mine to go! I'm currently in California studying art and english, but I've always wanted to live in the country with a farm and garden (garden class has made its impact) and even though I've only been there once, I want to live in Missouri (creepy, huh? :P)

anyway, keep up your cool stuff!

    best,
    Jessica

December 2015 update: Hi! For some reason I can't figure out, Blogger hasn't been letting me leave comments on my own blog (!) for the last several months, so I've been unable to respond to your comments and questions. My apologies for any inconvenience! You're always welcome to email me: farmgirlfare AT gmail DOT com.

Hi! Thanks for visiting Farmgirl Fare and taking the time to write. While I'm not always able to reply to every comment, I receive and enjoy reading them all.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and I especially love hearing about your experiences with my recipes. Comments on older posts are always welcome!

Please note that I moderate comments, so if I'm away from the computer it may be a while before yours appears.

I try my best to answer all questions, though sometimes it takes me a few days. And sometimes, I'm sorry to say, they fall through the cracks, and for that I sincerely apologize.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope you enjoy your e-visits to our farm!
