What a Lovely Little Surprise
© Copyright 2009 FarmgirlFare.com, the naturally color coordinated foodie farm blog where a huge display of flowers is always gorgeous, but around here more often than not just two little ones will do (especially when they're bulbs you planted years ago that only bloom once in a while)—and the reason I'm still awake this late is because I have a pear cake in the oven (and a cookbook deadline looming). But at least I know what will be on the menu for breakfast!
what a beautiful photo --the purple with the brown--and what a glorious reminder of spring for all of you in colder climes! :)
ReplyDeletehaha! my word verification was: "phorksm"...that's what i'd like to do to your pear cake!! :)
So pretty! Spring is here...
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Rosa
They are gorgeous...sigh!
ReplyDeleteTwo small blooms are a sign of something bigger - spring is coming and there are signs of it for sure.
ReplyDeleteI'm still so excited for you about the cookbook, I can't wait to see the end product. Pear cake for breakfast.... mmmm.
Most definitely, a sign of spring! I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteOh, the crocuses! Fantastic! We just saw the first snowdrops here in Cleveland and my mom is reporting crocuses in West Virginia.
ReplyDeleteThe first flowers! Oh, how wonderful! By the way, I finally made that very good artichoke and chard soup! It's on the blog, and I forgot to tell you.....
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see that here in central IL!! It's getting closer =)
ReplyDeletei can't wait for the first of the crocuses! although it might be a while yet in Wisconsin...
ReplyDeletecheers,
*heather*
Pear cake? Mmm. And crocuses - mine will be up in, oh, about 4-6 weeks. Sob.
ReplyDeleteLate night baking is something I enjoy. Just me, the oven, and whatever's in it baking away! Around here, plants have to be tough enough to survive the ducks and chickens to bloom.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful - spring will be here soon. And I trust you will keep us all posted about the cookbook???? Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteoh how lovely!
ReplyDeleteThis took my breath away!! It is zero degrees with biting winds here in WI today, so seeing the crocus gives me hope spring will eventually get here.
ReplyDeleteThanks!

hi!
ReplyDeleteI just read your profile, and plan on looking at lots more of your recipes and posts, but I just wanted to say your life sounds exactly like how I want mine to go! I'm currently in California studying art and english, but I've always wanted to live in the country with a farm and garden (garden class has made its impact) and even though I've only been there once, I want to live in Missouri (creepy, huh? :P)
anyway, keep up your cool stuff!
best,
Jessica
Hey...there are CHICKENS in your banner! Did Whitey hack into the blog???
ReplyDeleteThis is very beautiful photo! My crocuses are under an inch of snow right now.
