© 2009 FarmgirlFare.com, the share and share alike foodie farm blog where bitter cold temperatures (after 15 years in Missouri, this California girl still has trouble with phrases like 'highs around 3') combined with having this cold/flu/whatever-it-is for three weeks and counting (so not fun) means I haven't been snapping many cute pictures lately, let alone sharing all the recipes I'd planned. What I have been doing, however, is finding lots of never posted photos that still make me smile. Nothing can keep down cute!
Can never get enough of your donkey friends...they make me smile! Actually, all of your farm photos make me smile.
ReplyDeleteWishing you & yours (animal friends included) a happy, healthy, new year!
Never too much cute, whether new or old. Love it.
ReplyDeleteOH that was GREAT shot!
ReplyDeleteI have been a lurker for a long time and perhaps I should tell you, how much i love your blog and all that your life has done to enrich mine.
Thank you so much and keep it up!

Hey Suz, sorry the flu bug isn't shifting, it has been a long time! I'm getting over something less severe but it comes with a nasty cough, the type that pulls muscles under your shoulder blades - nice!
ReplyDeleteAnyhoo, have been meaning to ask for an absolute age, do you still have the llamas? I think one of your funniest posts started around the time you won one at an auction, weren't you eating fried pies or something? Do tell it again! BW. X
Ok, now I have to admit this...I've ALWAYS wanted a donkey, but since I live on an island in Maine and in a town in California, well, it isn't going to happen for awhile. So instead of going outside to feed my donkey friends, well, I visit yours.
ReplyDeleteThanks!

Highs around 3 - yes, we hear that one in Wisconsin, too. As for the neverending cold, I recommend a Neti Pot and lots of vitamin C. Two or three oranges a day would not be too much.
ReplyDeleteRemember, that's advice from Wisconsin, near the football stadium nicknamed The Frozen Tundra!
So sweet donkeys!
ReplyDeleteMy parents are farmers, so I kind of feel like a farmgirl myself. But we norwegians are not used to having donkeys :)
WELL, I'VE HEARD OF TWO HEADED ANIMALS BUT NEVER THIS! THANKS~Come say hi :D
ReplyDeleteA little late for New Year's but I thrive on "doses of cute" especially the 4 legged kind. I am anxiously looking forward to seeing the sheepbarn sequence. and Hoping it is a long one. Hint, hint. I am off the farm in Maine for the last 30 years but don't forget never getting to leave because of the aninals, and the work, and the cold, and the moose tearing down my clotheslines and walking on my laundry. Your pictures bring back the really good memories without my own muscles screaming in pain. Thanks many times over. I too, love the donkeys. They look so smart. I also love the dogs, the sheep, the cats, llamas, all of it. I enjoy it even more vicariously than doing it again myself!! Thank you again for allowing me to enjoy the efforts of your hard work.
ReplyDeleteHi Susan! Great photo (whether old or new - love them all)! I do hope you are feeling better and on the mend.
ReplyDeleteStay warm (easier said than done, huh)?
I have been trying to get the Cowboy to warm up to the addition of a miniature donkey or two for a while now ... so far I am still under a tight critter limit.
ReplyDeleteThese guys are super adorable tho!

ReplyDeleteHow am I supposed to get anything done now that I found this blog. I absolutely love it ---you are a joy .I was a farm girl for many years but health reasons meant farm now belongs to others. I surely do love reading about your adventures--reliving mine.
