Be brave.

More sheep? Here.
More Jasper? Here.

©, the safe behind gates foodie farm blog where some of you kindly reminded me the other day that I never told you the story of how Jasper came to join our farmily. Since it pretty much feels as if he's always been here, I just plain forgot. It's a short story, so hopefully I'll get to it soon.

  1. LOL, I love Jasper, he is such a cutie and such a farm cat. He must be getting ready for winter, he looks a little chubbier.

    1. Hi Sherlie,
Some of that is fluff - and some of it, ahem, isn't. That boy is BIG! And he's got these wonderful massive paws. :)

  2. Uh oh, I'm seeing a new screensaver in that top photo...

  3. Where's your autumn header? I always look forward to the leaves!

    1. How's that? :)

Blogger has been having some template issues for the past year (!), but they seem to be finally fixed. Thanks for the reminder to go check!

  4. oh please don't soon this story out of existence!
I finally just gave up on knowing the narrative behind the "new" Amish-built barn (another soon casualty).
how about jasper's history in a haiku?

  5. He is really an entertaining cat.

  6. We hope "soon" is soon because we LOVE reading about your farm stories - any and all of them. Jasper is a beautiful cat - I love BIG cat, too!

    Thanks so much.

December 2015 update: Hi! For some reason I can't figure out, Blogger hasn't been letting me leave comments on my own blog (!) for the last several months, so I've been unable to respond to your comments and questions. My apologies for any inconvenience! You're always welcome to email me: farmgirlfare AT gmail DOT com.

Hi! Thanks for visiting Farmgirl Fare and taking the time to write. While I'm not always able to reply to every comment, I receive and enjoy reading them all.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and I especially love hearing about your experiences with my recipes. Comments on older posts are always welcome!

Please note that I moderate comments, so if I'm away from the computer it may be a while before yours appears.

I try my best to answer all questions, though sometimes it takes me a few days. And sometimes, I'm sorry to say, they fall through the cracks, and for that I sincerely apologize.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope you enjoy your e-visits to our farm!
