When he's not sacked out by the woodstove or lounging in my office (like now), he's mostly racing around the farm without it, much to some of the sheeps' dismay. He is, however, becoming pals with Donkey Doodle Dandy, which is about the cutest thing ever.

    hi susan... i don't know how else to contact you so i'm leaving this post here. wondering if you know anyone who would be interested in giving a home to 2 baby donkeys--both jacks. They've turned up at a feedlot auction in new jersey--and no one's bought them yet ($135 each)... If you don't know anyone who'd want them--can you recommend a place that i could cross post a picture of them and some information--in case someone somewhere wants these 2 sweet little guys? thanks...

    Dogs - as opposed to cats - are so great about accepting a newcomer! I wouldn't want to live without either, but the introducing a new cat certainly requires some patience and hope.

    Sorry for not getting back to you sooner about the poor donkeys. I hope they've already found good homes, but if not, you could try contacting the Save Your Ass Long Ear Rescue, which is New England's only non-profit 501c3 donkey and mule rescue.

    I also just did a Google search (http://google.com) for 'donkey rescue' and got all kinds of promising hits.
