©, the puppified foodie farm blog where it only looks like Bert—who still wants to chase or be chased by pretty much everything that moves—lives on that leash. When he's not sacked out by the woodstove or lounging in my office (like now), he's mostly racing around the farm without it, much to some of the sheeps' dismay. He is, however, becoming pals with Donkey Doodle Dandy, which is about the cutest thing ever.

  1. Do we get to see photos from the new friendship, too?! These were great!

Love teh snorgles. Love Bert. Love Buddy Bear.

Donkey Doodle friendship? Wow. I can't wait.

  3. Belly welly! Cute boys.

  4. AAWWWW Doggie love!!

and you had your camera at the ready!

  5. I love the term "belly snorgles" as much as I love these pictures!
It reminds me of my sister's name for dog slobber: "snarkle"!

  6. hi susan... i don't know how else to contact you so i'm leaving this post here. wondering if you know anyone who would be interested in giving a home to 2 baby donkeys--both jacks. They've turned up at a feedlot auction in new jersey--and no one's bought them yet ($135 each)... If you don't know anyone who'd want them--can you recommend a place that i could cross post a picture of them and some information--in case someone somewhere wants these 2 sweet little guys? thanks...

  7. Oh my! I love the belly shots! Bert's ears are so cute in the last one.

    Debbie from Illinois

  8. I really enjoyed looki' at all your animals. Lucky gal to live in such a place.

  9. Dogs - as opposed to cats - are so great about accepting a newcomer! I wouldn't want to live without either, but the introducing a new cat certainly requires some patience and hope.

  10. I've recently discovered your blog lately & love the wonderfully cute pics of your dogs! We recently lost one of our dogs & its really awesome to see 2 dogs playing happily together!

  11. Puppy Love! It's a happy thing! :)

  12. Hi Everybody,
Thanks for all the fun comments. :)

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner about the poor donkeys. I hope they've already found good homes, but if not, you could try contacting the Save Your Ass Long Ear Rescue, which is New England's only non-profit 501c3 donkey and mule rescue.

I also just did a Google search ( for 'donkey rescue' and got all kinds of promising hits.

    I hope this helps!

December 2015 update: Hi! For some reason I can't figure out, Blogger hasn't been letting me leave comments on my own blog (!) for the last several months, so I've been unable to respond to your comments and questions. My apologies for any inconvenience! You're always welcome to email me: farmgirlfare AT gmail DOT com.

Hi! Thanks for visiting Farmgirl Fare and taking the time to write. While I'm not always able to reply to every comment, I receive and enjoy reading them all.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and I especially love hearing about your experiences with my recipes. Comments on older posts are always welcome!

Please note that I moderate comments, so if I'm away from the computer it may be a while before yours appears.

I try my best to answer all questions, though sometimes it takes me a few days. And sometimes, I'm sorry to say, they fall through the cracks, and for that I sincerely apologize.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope you enjoy your e-visits to our farm!
