Oh, sorry.

Happy New Year!

©, the softly treading foodie farm blog where what I love the most about this photo series is how poor Donkey Doodle Dandy never even moves. Thank you all so much for your kindness and support and for making 2011 our best blogging year ever. We couldn't do it without you. Here's to having even more Farmgirl Fare fun (and recipes!) in 2012!

  1. Nah. Like other equids, they're just solar-powered, and need to recharge their batteries after a chilly night. But they need to lay down in the sun to use the solar cells to recharge the batteries, since the solar cells are mostly on their tummies.

  2. "oh horse pucky".... say the donkeys. Which begs the question, do donkeys know they are funny?

I don't know about donkeys, but cows get nasty hangovers when they eat too many apples and get them fermenting in their rumen.

  3. You must have got those donkeys well liquored up last night. Do we have to report you to the animal welfare folks?

Happy (if quiet) New Year to you and the gang.

  4. Thanks for these wonderful pictures! Happy New Year to you and your two- and four-legged family!
What for heaven's sake did the donkeys (and they invited Bert along, too!) imbibe? Just want to make sure I never drink any of it!

  5. Thanks for the photos! Love your donkey family and all the animals that live on your farm. Happy new year to you and your Hunky Farmguy!

  6. Dandy is out with the rest of the bunch now?

  7. Great pictures! They surely do look like *yesterday* they were real party animals!!

  8. Those donkeys are just too funny. leave it to Bert to be a part of the action too.

Susan, I'm a couple of days behind but I want to wish you, Joe and all of your sweet animals the very best and happiest year ahead. And, I want to thank you so much for sharing your beautiful farm life with the rest of us. It really is an honor.

    Happy 2012!!

December 2015 update: Hi! For some reason I can't figure out, Blogger hasn't been letting me leave comments on my own blog (!) for the last several months, so I've been unable to respond to your comments and questions. My apologies for any inconvenience! You're always welcome to email me: farmgirlfare AT gmail DOT com.

Hi! Thanks for visiting Farmgirl Fare and taking the time to write. While I'm not always able to reply to every comment, I receive and enjoy reading them all.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and I especially love hearing about your experiences with my recipes. Comments on older posts are always welcome!

Please note that I moderate comments, so if I'm away from the computer it may be a while before yours appears.

I try my best to answer all questions, though sometimes it takes me a few days. And sometimes, I'm sorry to say, they fall through the cracks, and for that I sincerely apologize.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope you enjoy your e-visits to our farm!
