For years we went four miles a day nearly every single day, but for various reasons we slacked off. Way off. We're starting up again with just two miles, though it is the steepest two miles, and this photo was taken on our way back. Speed is not a factor, especially considering that this afternoon (which was beautiful) we must have stopped at least six different times to admire and take pictures of wild mushrooms. Unfortunately they weren't chanterelles. Who knew there were mushrooms that are blue?

  2. Husband Norm said the view is "cool" ... and "Man! Look at those hills!"

He also said that fall starts at 10:00 this morning (our time - 9:00 your time). So, happy fall! It's nice to know the excessive heat is gone for the year! I could live with fall and spring all year! So why am I living in Minnesota? Duh!

  3. Ok Ok I get it - time to quit the summer time excuses for not getting out there and exercising! It is definitely not too hot - in fact exquisite is the word for our early mornings. Always love to see the Buddy Bear in your photos - glad you are back in the long walk routine (sometimes the source of more heart rocks or just rockin' pictures of your world). Happy and Blessed Autumnal Season y'all - pumpkin pie isn't far off!! (oops - now you know why I need to be out there moving more!)

  5. Ah, an autumn walk with the dog - really, the best kind of walk ever. I do believe Bear thinks so, too.

  7. Your pictures always make me want to pack up and leave California like you did. Why didn't anyone tell me Missouri was so gorgeous? I can't wait to see what your farm looks like when the leaves change. I love fall.

December 2015 update: Hi! For some reason I can't figure out, Blogger hasn't been letting me leave comments on my own blog (!) for the last several months, so I've been unable to respond to your comments and questions. My apologies for any inconvenience! You're always welcome to email me: farmgirlfare AT gmail DOT com.

Hi! Thanks for visiting Farmgirl Fare and taking the time to write. While I'm not always able to reply to every comment, I receive and enjoy reading them all.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and I especially love hearing about your experiences with my recipes. Comments on older posts are always welcome!

Please note that I moderate comments, so if I'm away from the computer it may be a while before yours appears.

I try my best to answer all questions, though sometimes it takes me a few days. And sometimes, I'm sorry to say, they fall through the cracks, and for that I sincerely apologize.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope you enjoy your e-visits to our farm!
