Congratulations to Allison at Novice Life and Kari at They Call Me Ellie May, winners of the America's Best BBQ book giveaway!AmericasBestBBQ cover
And thanks to all of you who entered the contest and shared your best barebecue stories, recipes, and—most importantly—favorite restaurants and rib joints. You can read what everybody had to say, as well as more about this fun book, in the comments section of the original post, which also includes my All Natural Homemade Barbecue Sauce recipe.
America's Best BBQ: 100 Recipes from America's Best Smokehouses, Pits, Shacks, Rib Joints, Roadhouses, and Restaurants (softcover, full color, 240 pages, cover price $19.99) definitely has a place on the bookshelf—or in the glove compartment—of any serious barbecue lover. Right now it's available at amazon.com for the special bargain price of just $7.22. Do you come from a family of barbecue fans? Order a stack of copies and you'll be done with your holiday shopping in one hot summer swoop.

I have lots more book giveaways planned, so stay tuned. In the meantime, be sure to let me know if you come across some great barbecue in Missouri!

  2. Obviously I am required to say that the best BBQ in Missouri is my Dad's... but besides that:

I'm from St. Louis, and I love me some Pappy's Smokehouse. Although I assume you're no where near St. Louis considering you have so many acres!

I've heard from many many people that Hayden Drive-In has the best BBQ known to man, but it's down by the bootheel and a little far from me.

    Good luck in your search!

  3. Whew, glad that drive was worth it!

We mainly do our own. We use a lemon/butter/pepper/garlic sauce that my momma use to make up.

  4. I love this picture!
It made me smile (and I really needed a smile!)

    Take Care,

December 2015 update: Hi! For some reason I can't figure out, Blogger hasn't been letting me leave comments on my own blog (!) for the last several months, so I've been unable to respond to your comments and questions. My apologies for any inconvenience! You're always welcome to email me: farmgirlfare AT gmail DOT com.

Hi! Thanks for visiting Farmgirl Fare and taking the time to write. While I'm not always able to reply to every comment, I receive and enjoy reading them all.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and I especially love hearing about your experiences with my recipes. Comments on older posts are always welcome!

Please note that I moderate comments, so if I'm away from the computer it may be a while before yours appears.

I try my best to answer all questions, though sometimes it takes me a few days. And sometimes, I'm sorry to say, they fall through the cracks, and for that I sincerely apologize.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope you enjoy your e-visits to our farm!
