It started snowing yesterday morning, tiny flakes blowing down at a nearly horizontal angle. They didn't stop until late afternoon, when I ventured out with my camera to quickly snap these photos. There wasn't much accumulation—just enough to remind us that it really is December and put us in the holiday spirit.

In the mood for a lot more snow?

© FarmgirlFare.com, the cold-toed foodie farm blog where we don't really deck the halls for Christmas, but Mother Nature does a beautiful job of decorating the farm for us—and I need to go find my stash of heavy winter socks. Hot soup is definitely on the menu for today's lunch!

  4. Oh that looks cold. When I read your blog in winter, I am reminded not to whine. Cold, is all relative. Christmas cheer from the west coast!

  10. Love your photos--the third one down is amazing and way cool, with the whole foreground/background, contrasty thing going on. And you're right--who would even try to improve on Mother Nature's mad decorating skillz?

  12. We had a little wet, sticky snow yesterday but it's gone today. It really made the trees so beautiful. (mother Nature like to remind us of just who really is the boss, doesn't she?)

December 2015 update: Hi! For some reason I can't figure out, Blogger hasn't been letting me leave comments on my own blog (!) for the last several months, so I've been unable to respond to your comments and questions. My apologies for any inconvenience! You're always welcome to email me: farmgirlfare AT gmail DOT com.

Hi! Thanks for visiting Farmgirl Fare and taking the time to write. While I'm not always able to reply to every comment, I receive and enjoy reading them all.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and I especially love hearing about your experiences with my recipes. Comments on older posts are always welcome!

Please note that I moderate comments, so if I'm away from the computer it may be a while before yours appears.

I try my best to answer all questions, though sometimes it takes me a few days. And sometimes, I'm sorry to say, they fall through the cracks, and for that I sincerely apologize.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope you enjoy your e-visits to our farm!
