Farm Photo 10/25/07: Absolute Autumn

Now That's More Like It

We've had rainstorms and blustery afternoons and days in the 50s instead of the 80s.

It finally feels like fall.

  1. We are on our third day of steady rain and I am so happy I could cry! The temperatures have finally broken and fall is really here. :-)

Oh and I found my "farm". I found a farm house built in 1828 on 68 acres. Now to figure out how to finance getting buying it! Any tips?
    Take care!

  2. Just beautiful!

We have been in Las Vegas for 7 years now originally planted in Boston and one of the things I miss the most is the burst of Autumn color.

I do so enjoy my visits.

    Wishing you all the best!

  3. Hooray for rain and cooler temps! Love the foliage in your photo...not so much of that here in Georgia yet, though in the mountains the leaves are changing just a bit.

  4. Oh so beautiful! I just love trees! We only get them like that(naturally) at the higher elevations.

  5. If I ever moved from my home state, I'd still have to be in someplace with a visible change of seasons. I just love the fall colors.

  6. I ran out of the house yesterday and thought woah, it's almost cold out here. Fall has finaly hit Missouri. I love the cool days, and the leaves are starting to turn in a more serious way. I do feel a little guilty with all the rain we have had, when my friends in So Ca. need it so much. Enjoy your Autumn view.

  7. Susan,
Thank you so much for sharing your life. I have only recently found your blog, and have read through every post, laughing and crying with you and the other readers. Also, I tried your lentil soup recipe - Wonderful!!
Thank you again. I look forward to learning more!

  8. Though I love it when it's sunny and 70 degrees in January here in Southern California, I truly miss the foliage and crisp autumn air at this time of year. Thanks for sharing fall's beauty.

  9. Thank you thank you - we don't get much fall color here and it is beautiful. The light is as pretty in your place as in ours - that golden, misty look - bless you Susan - ya done it again.

  10. What wonderful colors! I love Autumn and it's fiery trees!

  11. Nice view. Sadly we are being told that since we haven't had much rain that our colors will mostly be shades of brown. I so look forward to fall and I feel cheated! It's rainy here at the moment, but it's still humid. I guess I will have to have a road trip for the leaf peeping season.

  12. Here as well (in Maryland) - finally the temperature is starting to fall as it should have a month ago, we finally got a bit of rain for the last few days... it feels like I can finally relax!

I keep coming back to look at Lucky Buddy Bear - as my second dog, Maddie, mellows out, she reminds me a lot of him (or vice versa). Awwww.

  13. I don't think I've ever commented before, but I've been reading your blog for more than a year now. Thank you for the great posts, food and photos! You've convinced me to get a baking stone.

  14. Hello Susan, absolutely beautiful photo, as usual. Love your blog, especially when you talk about your cats...

  15. What a beautiful Autumnal photograph. It's great to see so many different coloured trees. sara from farmingfriends

  16. Love seeing the beautiful autumn colours as I don't see them in the sub tropics.

  17. Beautiful photo! So great to see fall colors! I'm surrounded by palm trees and for a midwest girl ... that doesn't mean Fall.
    Thanks for the treat!

  18. very nice autumn scenery, very lovely
