This Little Guy Needs to Be Added to the Tally
Lucky Cherry's Lucky Little Boy
Current Lamb Count: 15. Ram lambs: Just 4. Number of new mothers so far: 10. Sets of twins: 5. Number of still expectant mothers: Should have been 2, but is probably more like 8 or 9 (that story will be forthcoming).
© 2009 FarmgirlFare.com, the suddenly spotted foodie farm blog where this time of year there's nothing better than strolling down to the barn in the early afternoon and finding a healthy newborn lamb soaking up the sunshine and already up and looking around for lunch—except doubling the fun with twins. And speaking of the barn, it's time to head back down there for one last check before bed.
So sweet baby lamb! I always love the pics....
ReplyDeleteI never thought sheep were particularly cute until I saw your lamb pictures from this season. This one is particularly adorable and I am not ashamed to say that I gasped a little at his spots and little face.
ReplyDeleteBaby looks like he's smiling! Can't wait to hear about the still expectant mothers. Also - still interested to see if rejected baby has been accepted by "other mother" or if you're having a repeat of Cary?
ReplyDeleteHope it is all going well!
What a cute little fluffball of sweetness!
ReplyDeleteHe looks like Cookies 'n Cream!
ReplyDeleteJust brings tears to my eyes every time you share these with us. They are always so sweet and innocent!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet lamb. I'm anxiously awaiting tale of the unexpected pregnancies.
ReplyDeleteDo these multi-colored lambs retain their spots as they age? You can see I am not a farm girl.
ReplyDeleteOh my, what a handsome boy. I love love love his spots!
ReplyDeletetruly adorable and looking forward to the "tail" of wayward ewes expecting unexpectedly - here is a blog (friend of mine) featuring sheep which stay spotted http://reddogspottedsheep.blogspot.com/ --it is interesting whether they remain spotted but your biscotti chocolate chippers didn't seem to appear spotted as adults so I'm guessing yours don't?
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! What an adorable little being. Is he for sale?
ReplyDeleteNancy

ReplyDeleteYou sure must be busy with all the births. Are you surprised by the number of lambs being born. Seems like a lot to me, but I live in the suburbs, so what would I know.

ReplyDeleteHe reminds me of cookies and cream ice cream! So cute!
