Saturday Dose of Cute: A Spiffy New Look!

And we're jumping for joy.

For a while now I've been busy working behind the scenes to create a new blog design template, and I'm happy to announce that it's finally done! The overall look here is still familiar, but there are some nifty new features that I've been wanting to add for a long time, like the navigation tabs at the top of the page. There's now an About Me page, a Subscribe page, a Contact page, a Frequently Asked Farmgirl Questions page, and (finally!) a complete Farmgirl Fare Recipe Index. Woohoo!

I still have a lot of tweaking to do, but the hard part is done, and I hope you'll now find this site easier to navigate and more enjoyable to visit. It may even load a little faster, too. I owe a big thanks to my helpful and extremely patient friends, Kalyn and Karina, who write the super popular food blogs, Kalyn's Kitchen and Gluten-Free Goddess. I couldn't have done this without them, and I'm sure they'll be thrilled to know the barrage of 'just one more question' e-mail messages is going to be slowing way down.

As always, your feedback—both positive and negative—is greatly appreciated, so if something looks wonky, doesn't seem to be working right, or you have any questions or suggestions about the new design, I do hope you'll let me know. If you can't find something, the Google search box is still located in the upper right corner, and it will search on just Farmgirl Fare and In My Kitchen Garden for whatever you're looking for.

Thank you all so much for your wonderful support over the past 5½ years. I wouldn't be here without you!

Sunday update: Okay, it looks like the spaces between paragraphs disappeared on a lot of older posts when I switched to the new template (and went from Classic Blogger to Layouts). Also, the 'small' size text I used to use for posts has turned into extra small, which is really teeny. I'm working my way through the archives fixing things (and doing the recipes first), but it's going to take a while. Thanks for your patience.

  3. Looks great from where I sit in northern California where the snow stays in the mountains and we at the coast have gorgeous views when the fog is not too thick.

  9. Everything seems so smooth and clean! And a food index!! That is the best news of all! I've especially been promising myself to bake some of the pitas from your pita bread recipe, and now I can find them faster! ... though, flipping through all those years of posts and reliving the past is pretty fun too.

Like other posters, I love the pix & the recipes...I can't explore as frequently as I would like, but I love your blog & look forward to my time here. 27. The site looks great. You have about as much snow as we do in eastern Ontario, Canada. The temperature at the moment is -24 degrees Celsius. You can always judge the temperature by looking out at the garage light. The energy-efficient emits a very orangish light in very cold temperatures and a whitish light at normal temperatures.

  28. LOVE the recipe index!! Now I'll stop googling "farmgirl ginger pear" everytime I misplace that awesome muffin recipe. Ditto for at least a dozen other things on your site.

Well done, you deserve a break (maybe some beagle snuggling time...)

  29. Was wondering what resolution it's built on...I normally view in IE on 1024x768 and am finding it has a horizontal scroll...just an FYI. Love your blog, and will be enjoying that recipe index :)

Love your new Beagle puppy too. Reminds me of a beagle I had as a kid.

Been reading your blog for years but been busy the last several months, so now I have some catching up to do!

December 2015 update: Hi! For some reason I can't figure out, Blogger hasn't been letting me leave comments on my own blog (!) for the last several months, so I've been unable to respond to your comments and questions. My apologies for any inconvenience! You're always welcome to email me: farmgirlfare AT gmail DOT com.

Hi! Thanks for visiting Farmgirl Fare and taking the time to write. While I'm not always able to reply to every comment, I receive and enjoy reading them all.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and I especially love hearing about your experiences with my recipes. Comments on older posts are always welcome!

Please note that I moderate comments, so if I'm away from the computer it may be a while before yours appears.

I try my best to answer all questions, though sometimes it takes me a few days. And sometimes, I'm sorry to say, they fall through the cracks, and for that I sincerely apologize.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope you enjoy your e-visits to our farm!
