Farm Photo 12/31/06: Farm Life Is Exhausting

Baby Cary at age three weeks, sound asleep in my office.

It's been quite a year. Thanks so much for sharing it with us!

  9. And to think I complain about tripping over sleeping cats around my desk! I understand horses sleep standing up? But I guess they have other drawbacks as housepets.

I really don't understand why I can't keep a couple of chickens in the city, though. I do understand (sadly) why I'm zoned out of my longtime demented wish for a (sigh) dairy goat. But I think chickens would make perfect sense. Lots of Londoners kept them during WWII, cause you got more eggs with feed rations than egg ones.

January 2013 update: I know word verification is a big pain, but it's the only way I can stop the ridiculous number of anonymous spam comments I get every day. I don't want to require commenters to be registered Blogger or Open ID users because I know many of you aren't. Thanks so much for your understanding!
