Tuesday Dose of Cute: Safe

Daisy and Bert after the storm

Thanks so much for your thoughts and prayers regarding our overflowing creek and flooding farm. The short version is that everyone in the farmyard and barnyard is doing okay, including the new baby lamb. More below. . .

We haven't been able to get to Donkeyland to check on the six donkeys out there, but we'll hopefully make it tomorrow. They should be okay. Dan is out in the front field and doing fine. The creek has crested and is going down, but there's supposed to be more rain heading our way tonight, which will make it rise again.

Today the sun actually showed itself for a while—so naturally in the midst of everything else I rushed outside and planted a special new flower bed in my kitchen garden and then hung some laundry on the line. Sometimes it's the familiar little rituals that help keep us grounded during times of stress. That and lots of Tension Tamer tea.

Bear and Marta Beast after the storm

We're thankful the worst seems to be over, but we're all a little whupped.

  2. I thought I had some dirty dogs in all this Spring run-off but mine have nothing on Marta Beast! Oh, my heavens, that is one dirty girl! She doesn't expect to come in the house, does she....

  4. Good news......sent a lot of thoughts your way yesterday. Especially happy about the Dan news.
Marta Beast is quite the mess. I had a big shaggy dog like that years ago and his goal was to get on the couch when he was soggy. What a challenge to keep him outside.
I have a feeling your farm will be very lush in the coming days!

December 2015 update: Hi! For some reason I can't figure out, Blogger hasn't been letting me leave comments on my own blog (!) for the last several months, so I've been unable to respond to your comments and questions. My apologies for any inconvenience! You're always welcome to email me: farmgirlfare AT gmail DOT com.

Hi! Thanks for visiting Farmgirl Fare and taking the time to write. While I'm not always able to reply to every comment, I receive and enjoy reading them all.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and I especially love hearing about your experiences with my recipes. Comments on older posts are always welcome!

Please note that I moderate comments, so if I'm away from the computer it may be a while before yours appears.

I try my best to answer all questions, though sometimes it takes me a few days. And sometimes, I'm sorry to say, they fall through the cracks, and for that I sincerely apologize.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope you enjoy your e-visits to our farm!
