This is the little milk face guy you met the other day. He's doing just fine, nurses like a pro, and is having no trouble keeping up with the bigger kids in the barnyard. He's already grown so much since I snapped these baby pictures last week you'd hardly recognize him now, but I couldn't resist sharing them with you.

© Copyright 2008 FarmgirlFare.com, the award-winning blog where it's the height of lambing season, but after nearly three weeks past the first due date we only have five lambs on the ground and at least 20 still-pregnant ewes. Did Studly Do Right Jefferson decide to make his one and only job last a little longer last fall or what? And why do I have this feeling the rest of the lambs are all going to arrive at once?

Looks like he's wearing a sweater in pic 1.

  4. He is a beautiful lamb. The black lambs are one of the reasons why we chose Suffolks as our breed, the speckly cross breeds are cute too.

  5. Looks like Studly Do Right did some late work? Beautiful babies from him -guess he figures better late than never right? Trusting the gals don't all decide to "bingo" on the same 24 hour period! Glad for the update on the little guy who didn't like milk at first - you are a good surrogate.

  7. So glad he is eating well, now. It's always a heart-break when someone is not doing well and then just slips away!

  8. Those ears, I could just fondle them. My, that doesn't sound very good does it?

  13. I'm on a "farm" in Illinois, but I don't get to see many baby lambs! This WAS a daily dose of cute - thanks for sharing the sweet pictures. . .

  14. How adorable! Makes me wish I had a farm, I think the 6 chicks I have ordered for later this month and my little garden are all I can handle though!

December 2015 update: Hi! For some reason I can't figure out, Blogger hasn't been letting me leave comments on my own blog (!) for the last several months, so I've been unable to respond to your comments and questions. My apologies for any inconvenience! You're always welcome to email me: farmgirlfare AT gmail DOT com.

Hi! Thanks for visiting Farmgirl Fare and taking the time to write. While I'm not always able to reply to every comment, I receive and enjoy reading them all.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and I especially love hearing about your experiences with my recipes. Comments on older posts are always welcome!

Please note that I moderate comments, so if I'm away from the computer it may be a while before yours appears.

I try my best to answer all questions, though sometimes it takes me a few days. And sometimes, I'm sorry to say, they fall through the cracks, and for that I sincerely apologize.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope you enjoy your e-visits to our farm!
