There's Nothing Subtle About Our Dan--He's Ready For Bed!
No, I haven't had the courage to remove his (now extremely)
ratty blue halter yet. Though he seems quite willing to let me yank it off.

Kitchen Garden Recipe Alert!
Yesterday I posted a new recipe on
InMyKitchenGarden.com. It's called Colors Of Summer Salad, and it proves once again that Less Fuss, More Flavor is definitely the way to go--especially in this heat. What? You didn't know about my kitchen garden blog? Where do you think most of the food from this one ran off to? And it's not just for gardeners either. You can read about everything from why I love my sun hat to how to make it rain. Check the sidebar over there for links to more of my original kitchen garden recipes.

  6. Why do you need courage to remove his halter? Will you never be able to put a new one on him?

Also, what are those stones in the wall behind him? Sandstone?

  7. Dan is by far my favourite out of your menagerie of characters on your farm.
I wish I could own a donkey of my own, although I don't know how my dog Jack would feel the new competition.

December 2015 update: Hi! For some reason I can't figure out, Blogger hasn't been letting me leave comments on my own blog (!) for the last several months, so I've been unable to respond to your comments and questions. My apologies for any inconvenience! You're always welcome to email me: farmgirlfare AT gmail DOT com.

Hi! Thanks for visiting Farmgirl Fare and taking the time to write. While I'm not always able to reply to every comment, I receive and enjoy reading them all.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and I especially love hearing about your experiences with my recipes. Comments on older posts are always welcome!

Please note that I moderate comments, so if I'm away from the computer it may be a while before yours appears.

I try my best to answer all questions, though sometimes it takes me a few days. And sometimes, I'm sorry to say, they fall through the cracks, and for that I sincerely apologize.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope you enjoy your e-visits to our farm!
