100% Whole Grain Ginger Pear Bran Muffins & Baking with Your Mom
© Copyright 2009 FarmgirlFare.com, the foodie farm blog where cloudy winter days never get me down like they do some people (and plants love them, which is why everything grows so beautifully in England)—but I could easily do without the minus three degrees predicted for tonight.
Ohhh, those muffins look delicious. I looked at the recipe and they seem so easy as a nice change from the usual plain old bran muffin. Ginger as the addition just perks up almost anything. Your mother, what a great experience with her.
ReplyDelete(Cloudy days, they just get my mood down so much, I should try to think of the positive I know, but it just makes me want to curl up inside and veg. Why do you think you are better at handling it (aside from the plants)? )
Dude. That's a pretty grim photo. Shades of E.A. Poe.
ReplyDeleteStay warm - it was -4 degrees this morning at 7:20am (s.e. Michigan). I know it could be worse, I read that is was -37 in someplace in North Dakota.
ReplyDeleteHow do all of your animals handle the bitter cold? Head for the barn?
I don't mind cloudy days, although I do love the sunny best! We are heading for a heat wave! It was -26 yesterday (Thursday) morning, was -22 last night but is now only -7 and is heading UP, UP, UP!! Should hit + (PLUS) 20 by tomorrow!!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I realize that your cold is COLD for you, so I will let you complain!!!
Stay warm - keep those lovely animals of yours nice and warm!
From a Joni Mitchell song??
ReplyDeleteSomehow, the cold is easier to handle when the sun is out. I don't mind the cloudy days during the summer but they seem depressing during the winter.
ReplyDeleteI just discovered your blog this morning and wanted to say that I think its great! My DH and I had a small farm but losing it. I hope, with help, to continue my frugal ways though and maybe someday be able to achieve our dream again.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to reading more! Keep up the good work and stay warm,
Debbie
I've been meaning to try that recipe for ages now, but still need to buy oat bran. While picking up fresh wheat bran the other day, I also bought wheat berries (I remembered seeing a wheatberry bread recipe someplace...turns out it was on A Year In Bread). Sidetracked now with wheatberry stuff.
ReplyDeleteWith the cold weather, isn't it tempting to move into the new place? It has heat now, doesn't it? Even unfinished, is it more primitive than The Shack? (don't take that the wrong way...its hard to tell from a thousand miles away).
