Always Vying For The Tastiest Blade Of Grass

  1. CHICKENZ! :)

We got to watch our new neighbor chasing chickens with a fish net the other night. That was interesting!

  2. I can't tell you how much I love this blog. I'm a Midwestern girl trapped in a busy, hectic, obnoxious East Coast job. Every afternoon I check in to have a few moments of peace and quiet. Your photos are wonderful as is the writing. Thanks (and you're photography is getting more and more accomplished!)

  3. Hooray! More chickens! Brrrrk-brkbrkbrkbrk!

By the way--what kind/breed of chix are the black-and-white-speckled ones? They look so stunning. And the photos of chickens walking in the snow--how sweet. Your Rhode Island Red is a pretty girl, too. She looks like my Myrtle Mae, Poultry Queen of the Back Yard.

  4. Excellent Blog!

Having lived a rural life since born, I appreciate your out-look on not taking for granted the wonders of a natural life.

    Keep up the great work!

    Blessings to You,

  5. I absolutely love your blog. Your descriptions of life with gardens, animals, bugs, heat, humidity and OMG snakes!warm my heart everytime I visit. Thank you for inviting me into your farm life.

  6. Hi there!
I think my DH picked enough blueberries the other night to make your Blueberry Breakfast Bars - Yum. I enjoy your blog immensly - especially the antics of Cary and her friends the chickens. I wondered if I might put a link to your blog on mine? From one farmgirl to another - Tina

  7. Another Carey picture. Yey! I love her cheekiness. You must just want to pick her up and hug her all day long for being so cute. I know I do and I'm 1000's of miles away. Have a wonderful day on the farm.

  9. I grew up in rural Minnesota and love reading about your experiences. I am curious how you keep control of your sheep because they seem to roam free, or is that an illusion...?!

December 2015 update: Hi! For some reason I can't figure out, Blogger hasn't been letting me leave comments on my own blog (!) for the last several months, so I've been unable to respond to your comments and questions. My apologies for any inconvenience! You're always welcome to email me: farmgirlfare AT gmail DOT com.

Hi! Thanks for visiting Farmgirl Fare and taking the time to write. While I'm not always able to reply to every comment, I receive and enjoy reading them all.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and I especially love hearing about your experiences with my recipes. Comments on older posts are always welcome!

Please note that I moderate comments, so if I'm away from the computer it may be a while before yours appears.

I try my best to answer all questions, though sometimes it takes me a few days. And sometimes, I'm sorry to say, they fall through the cracks, and for that I sincerely apologize.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope you enjoy your e-visits to our farm!
