© Copyright 2010, the friendly but not always friends foodie farm blog where Mr. Midnight may do yoga and leap from tall buildings with gorgeous grace, but Sylvester has everybody beat when it comes to balancing—and you'd think that with 240 acres to roam around (not that any of our 9 farm cats ever roams quite that far), everybody would peacefully lay claim to their own little patch of land. But nope, boys will be boys. It's never gonna happen—especially since sweet and fluffy little Sylvester is actually a pretty big bully.

  1. I just wanted to let you know I LOVE your blog! I've been reading it for awhile, but haven't gotten through everything yet. I raise dairy goats, and have wanted to get a couple of sheep for a long tine. I've heard horror stories of sheep transmitting CL and scrapie and whatnot to the dairy goats, so I'm still a little apprehensive. I keep dreaming of having these wonderful merino type sheep and spinning their wool into yard and knitting sweaters for my family and friends! (like I really have time for all that.)
I like your dogs too, especially the LGD's. We recently lost ours, but have a puppy reserved. I LOVED our GP.
I'll be back to visit your blog again very soon.

  2. Aren't cats the funniest creatures? We never had one growing up because of my brother's allergies, but now I've got several. Actually 2 are mine, the others just bogart a free meal ever now and again. Some are so cuddly and some are so independant. And my little scamp just aims to please. I've received several dead little critters on my front porch to prove it.

    Love your blog!

  3. I love your superfurry kitties; they're adorable!

  4. Sylvester is gorgeous!! And those pictures cracked me up!! Cats give a whole new meaning to the expression "if looks could kill". ha

  5. Oh, I have seen this battle played out SO many times in our house . . . . thanks for sharing. I do love your blog; don't comment much but follow. I grew up on a farm and your site helps bring back a lot of good memories.

  6. Great photos! I love the cats.

  7. for just a second I thought Mr. Midnight might've been a panther, he is one muscley cat!

December 2015 update: Hi! For some reason I can't figure out, Blogger hasn't been letting me leave comments on my own blog (!) for the last several months, so I've been unable to respond to your comments and questions. My apologies for any inconvenience! You're always welcome to email me: farmgirlfare AT gmail DOT com.

Hi! Thanks for visiting Farmgirl Fare and taking the time to write. While I'm not always able to reply to every comment, I receive and enjoy reading them all.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and I especially love hearing about your experiences with my recipes. Comments on older posts are always welcome!

Please note that I moderate comments, so if I'm away from the computer it may be a while before yours appears.

I try my best to answer all questions, though sometimes it takes me a few days. And sometimes, I'm sorry to say, they fall through the cracks, and for that I sincerely apologize.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope you enjoy your e-visits to our farm!
