Seeing Things

I probably walked past this a dozen times before finally stopping to take a picture of it.

Then I walked around to the other side and took this photo.
What do you see?

  1. I see a duck head, or possibly a fish. I love when you find things in nature that look like something else. Watching the clouds go by and making up stories is one of my favorite ways to entertain little ones while I am looking after them!

  2. Oh a duck - of course since we have some here that's probably why :) I love finding things like this - I have a lovely heart-shaped rock and my daughter found one that looks just like a hamburger!
I'm new to your blog and absolutely love it. Why I can't pretend my life is like yours I see a lot of things I love in yours. We moved from the city to a semi-rural area 9 years ago. Only have 2 acres but we've put in a pond and have ducks, fish, dragonflies, cranes, etc. 3 dogs, 2 cats, 2 horses live here too and we used to have a rabbit. I have a good sized veggie garden and love to cook, can and bake. We all like photography too. My only regret is that my hubby and I both have corporate jobs so we can't stay here all day....the list of honey-do's is never ending! Hope to move in about 5 years to someplace less crowded and more land - we're considering Idaho, Montana or maybe Alaska!

Thanks for all the lovely bits of information and the great photos!

  3. I see a fish to the left and a duck to the right.
Isn't it wonderful to find so much around us which exercises our mind and imagination?

  7. It's a duck!

    Exactly!

Sorry, it's something a friend of mine says constantly. I know it's a movie reference of some kind, but I don't know what.

  9. Ok, I say duck, and boy is that awesome. One day when I was arrowhead hunting in a farmers field in southern Missouri, I found a small smooth rock, shaped like an otter or similar creature, with face-shape and all. I was astonished. Not sure some native person fashioned it that way, or mother nature, but it is so cool and is in my display case.

  11. I see a duck, yes a duck...not a goose. Hmmm maybe I see a duck, a duck and a goose....duck duck goose......I digress

  12. To me, that is a goose in flight. From any angle.

What a freaky find in the yard! Good eye.

Now, hopefully it doesn't become a Nanny Bear or Robin chew toy ;)

  14. to me...the top one looks like a sleeping dog's head (greyhound I think) with his snout pointing to the right and small ear behind the slit of a closed eye. the second one looks like a "cow fish" swimming with his tiny puckered mouth pointing to the right. He's got a well defined eye and cute little "Nemo" type fin.

  15. I immediately saw a fish and a duck - but I could also see maybe a pig (on the facing right side). Interesting that so many people saw the same thing!

  17. WHOA this is great. The top one looks like the fiery eye of a wild horse (though it first looked like a fish) and the bottom one looks like a bird.

  19. I thought it was a duck head, that's what it looks like to me at least :)

I wanted to drop by and let you know that I've tried your Beer Bread and it's delicious, my hubby pretty much ate the first loaf on his own LOL He loves it :)

Thank you so much for your wonderful recipes and beautiful pictures :)

  23. I think the first picture looks fairly like a duck or goose. But for some reason the second picture reminds me of a pig! I also love it when things look like something they aren't. There's a knot in a tree in my yard that I've always thought looks exactly like a bird's head.

Thanks for all the interesting reading on your blog. (I've been reading it for a while, but haven't commented yet.) Keep up with the great posts!
