December 2015 update: Hi! For some reason I can't figure out, Blogger hasn't been letting me leave comments on my own blog (!) for the last several months, so I've been unable to respond to your comments and questions. My apologies for any inconvenience! You're always welcome to email me: farmgirlfare AT gmail DOT com.
Hi! Thanks for visiting Farmgirl Fare and taking the time to write. While I'm not always able to reply to every comment, I receive and enjoy reading them all.
Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and I especially love hearing about your experiences with my recipes. Comments on older posts are always welcome!
Please note that I moderate comments, so if I'm away from the computer it may be a while before yours appears.
I try my best to answer all questions, though sometimes it takes me a few days. And sometimes, I'm sorry to say, they fall through the cracks, and for that I sincerely apologize.
I look forward to hearing from you and hope you enjoy your e-visits to our farm!
That's really a beautiful shot. I've seen those on trees before, but usually they don't look so perfect!
ReplyDeleteGroovy!
ReplyDeletenice shot!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Glad to see the daily farm photos are back in full effect. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteAmazing, Susan! Can you go foraging for edible funghi on your farm?
ReplyDeleteWOW!
ReplyDeleteHey, Susan, I notice you have a stray "-->" at the top of your page (at least when I view it in Firefox and Netscape it's there; it doesn't show up in IE or Opera ...)
ReplyDeleteI looked over your source code and am suspecting it's the "-->" right before your close tag on the javascript. I'd show you what I mean, but this comment page won't let me type in the line! Argh.
But I'm not a javascripter so I can't be sure. Anyway, I thought you might like to try taking that out to see if it goes away? I'd be happy to check it the instant you do to see if it has fixed the problem, am online constantly. Or maybe your pal Casey can just check it out for you?
So beautiful..lovely pic!
ReplyDeleteUh, you gonna eat that?
ReplyDelete:D
Amazing that a fungus can sometimes be actually very beautiful huh ?. :-) Nice photography work.
ReplyDeleteGreat pic! I love mushrooms.
ReplyDeleteHi Amy,
ReplyDeleteI like that comparison to flowers. Interesting. They are definitely the brightest thing growing in the woods right now!
Hi Dawn,
I don't think I've ever seen this type before. I love how it's cascading down the stump. And the colors!
Hi Nic,
LOL : )
Hi ep,
Thanks and welcome to the farm!
Hi Berecca,
Thank you and you're welcome. : )
And welcome to the farm! I know you've commented before, but I don't think I ever gave you an official welcome. I've been behind on responding to comments lately.
Hi Sam,
I do go mushroom hunting on the farm. The most popular edible mushroom in this area by far is the morel. They are delicious, and I have found my fair share of them, but I much prefer the far more (at least around here) elusive chanterelle. Ahhhhhhh! Now there's a mushroom.
Hi Patti,
I don't believe I welcomed you to the farm either yet--welcome! As for your "WOW," I quite agree. : )
Hi PatL,
Again, I know you've been here before and commented, but I think I missed welcoming you to the farm. So here you are: welcome! : )
Thanks so much for letting me know about the, um, stray whatever thingie in my source code. Unfortunately, the only part of your message I actually understood was when you said you couldn't see the problem in IE (which I use). I will definitely have to forward your discovery to my technical support crew. : ) Thanks again for letting me know.
So does it look really stupid (or make me look really stupid)? : )
Hi Sailu,
Thank you.
Hi Tana,
Nah. I'm saving my appetite for chanterelles (and cookies).
Hi Kaliblue,
I was really struck by its beauty. And the fact that it is growing in such cold temperatures. It kind of looks to me like it belongs in the ocean.
Hi Laurie,
What I find amazing is how many different shapes and sizes and varieties and colors they come in.
Hi, Susan,
ReplyDeleteNope, it doesn't make you look stupid. In fact, the first time I saw it, it looked as if it was intentionally pointing toward something! It was only when I saw it the second time that I recognized it for what it was.
So, you're welcome, and thanks for the welcome! Love your blog. Can't wait to try the chocolate biscotti. Almost got off my seat to start them immediately, but then calmer heads prevailed. Umm, I mean "head". :o)
Gorgeous! I like to think there might be elves living under those.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! Is that a fungus? What amazing colors! Prettier than any I've ever seen before. Everything seems cooler on your farm. That's it, I'm coming for a visit!
ReplyDeleteI WANT TO COME LIVE ON THIS GORGEOUS FARM!! *pout*
ReplyDeleteYour eye for composition is amazing. And the ability to capture such simple objects in magnificent form. I will be back.
ReplyDeleteToo Cool, Susan!
ReplyDeleteChicken skirts?
ReplyDeleteFor flamenco poultry, of course.
