December 2015 update: Hi! For some reason I can't figure out, Blogger hasn't been letting me leave comments on my own blog (!) for the last several months, so I've been unable to respond to your comments and questions. My apologies for any inconvenience! You're always welcome to email me: farmgirlfare AT gmail DOT com.
Hi! Thanks for visiting Farmgirl Fare and taking the time to write. While I'm not always able to reply to every comment, I receive and enjoy reading them all.
Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and I especially love hearing about your experiences with my recipes. Comments on older posts are always welcome!
Please note that I moderate comments, so if I'm away from the computer it may be a while before yours appears.
I try my best to answer all questions, though sometimes it takes me a few days. And sometimes, I'm sorry to say, they fall through the cracks, and for that I sincerely apologize.
I look forward to hearing from you and hope you enjoy your e-visits to our farm!
What about:
ReplyDelete"May one?"
Archaic, but proper.
Hi Kat,
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I hope not, too! I usually have plans on full moon nights. ; )
I just sometimes wish they could speak! I have a feeling tonight is going to be a very long night. I'm about to go back down there in a few minutes--as soon as the giant flashlight is powered back up from the last trip an hour ago, LOL. : )
Hi SRHCB,
So nice to hear from you. Ahhhh, good one. And yes, you're right. But it doesn't actually give a command, though does it? : )
Haha - nice trivia item. Now I can only hope I remember it for next year! :)
ReplyDeletePoor girl reminds me of my friend who is now one week overdue!
ReplyDeleteAwwww, I thought it was March Fourth (Forth)! I still don't get "May One"... oh well. LOL.
ReplyDeleteHi Jeff,
ReplyDeleteI don't know why, but I just love that little tidbit. The best was when I told someone whose birthday was March 4th and they'd never heard that--they were tickled! : )
Hi I.G.O.,
LOL, what is it with these girls? Don't their babies want to come out? : )
Hi Melissa,
It is "March Fourth (Forth)!" You got it. : )
"May one" would be beginning of a sentence, as in "May one please have another chocolate babycake?" Like srhcb said, it's archaic sounding, but proper. (At least I think that sentence is correct. You get the idea--and the person being asked the question definitely would!) : )
Any others out there?
Oooo! May this one have a chocolate baby cake? Those look yummy!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe someone besides me has carried around that old March 4th tidbit! All day long when someone asked me what the date was, I answered, "The only day that is also a command!" (Then they'd stare at me blankly...)
ReplyDeleteSomehow in my mind, that bit of info seems tied to this one:
Where did Hitler keep his armies?

Up his sleevies!
