December 2015 update: Hi! For some reason I can't figure out, Blogger hasn't been letting me leave comments on my own blog (!) for the last several months, so I've been unable to respond to your comments and questions. My apologies for any inconvenience! You're always welcome to email me: farmgirlfare AT gmail DOT com.
Hi! Thanks for visiting Farmgirl Fare and taking the time to write. While I'm not always able to reply to every comment, I receive and enjoy reading them all.
Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and I especially love hearing about your experiences with my recipes. Comments on older posts are always welcome!
Please note that I moderate comments, so if I'm away from the computer it may be a while before yours appears.
I try my best to answer all questions, though sometimes it takes me a few days. And sometimes, I'm sorry to say, they fall through the cracks, and for that I sincerely apologize.
I look forward to hearing from you and hope you enjoy your e-visits to our farm!
Bear looks very calm and relaxed. Do the girls mind the "rear" shots?
ReplyDeleteOh cool! Bear spending time with the gals...
ReplyDeleteWho do you think will be next to have a baby? I do so enjoy seeing the babies.
Have a great day Farmgirl!
Enjoying your lambing season too - congrats!
ReplyDeleteDon't you love the black legged ones? We have the one little am with black legs too. I am now facing my fear of ear tagging for the first time...I have to go back when I have time and read your vegetable entry - we are building our deerproof garden this weekend. Can't wait to have veggies again!
In the meantime I will take a nap, but with just one eye closed! says bear.
ReplyDeleteand bear say enjoy girls I will be here for you...
ReplyDeleteLooks more like a 'secret womens meeting' if you ask me *lol*
ReplyDeleteHi Vickie,
ReplyDeleteI don't think the girls mind anything when their heads are buried in the feed bunk!
Hi Heather,
Yep, Bear does love his sheep. Who do I think will have the next baby? It's hard to tell. Mary looks like she's been about to pop for over a week. And Frederica's bag (udder) keeps getting bigger and bigger. But there are lots of others out there, too, who may surprise me. I have some photos and hope to put them up in the next day or two. Hope. : )
Hi Shephedgirl,
Personally, I think all-white sheep are bor-ing, but that's just me. : ) My original plan was to have an all colored wool flock (and spin the naturally colored wool). Although the cute colors and chocolate chip spots on the lambs will fade soon (and the all-black sheep will turn brown--or even white sometimes, like Teddy), most of mine will keep those dark legs and faces because our ram is a black-faced Suffolk.
Oh my. Ear tagging. Almost as much fun as docking tails and castrating. Eartagging is a two-person job around here, and I am the one who holds the lambs (not as easy as it sounds). My advice to you--hold on very tight to all four little legs! : ) And good luck with the deer proofing. Our dogs do a tremendous amount of deer patrol, but some of them are incredibly brazen and will stop at nothing to get to your precious garden bounty. Grrrrr.
Hi Keewee,
It's not easy being on the job 24/7. : )
Hi Sha,
He really is an amazing dog. And some of the sheep realize this. The other ones can't stand him. But he doesn't mind. He loves them all.
Hi Abe/Happy,
LOL, that's cute. But I think Chip, Chip, Sweet Pea, and Teddy might be offended--they're all in there somewhere. : )
