The Driveway Is Pretty In Pink Right Now
No Lamb Report today except to say that Cary is doing very well and is up to 10 pounds. She now lets her injured leg touch the ground when she is standing still--and sometimes even puts a little weight on it. Last night she was bouncing in the barn. This morning she was packing with the bigger lambs. I am thrilled. She is, as usual, asleep at my feet as I type this.
Ooooh -- what is that wildflower? I thought I remembered all my Eastern varieties but this one stumps me. It's beautiful. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHi Kudzu,
ReplyDeleteI actually have no idea what kind of flower this is. They are blooming all over the forest right now. There are dozens of types of woodland wildflowers that pop up in spring, but many of them are so delicate and have such tiny blooms that they really don't make for good photographs. I was really surprised at how well this one came out.
I'm very bad about plant identification (unless it's a plant produces something edible, LOL), but I'm sure somebody else can enlighten us. I'll put out the official call:
Help! What kind of flower is this?
Thank you.
Oh your picture is beautiful. It looks like bee balm to me, but I am no expert for sure. Do the hummingbirds like it?
ReplyDeleteThis is my first visit to your site and I have smiled and smiled at your words and images. Its simply wonderful. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI have a smaller version of your life with art as an add-on.
I'm feeling like you should write a novel about you and Cary, a la Ring of Bright Water or the Yearling, but with no sad parts. Maybe with photographic illustrations? Of you cuddling?
ReplyDeleteI got addicted to your site a couple of weeks ago, and now I can't stop. Our garden is of the small rental home variety, but your recipes have helped us put everything to good use. My roommates are eating so quickly, we make a loaf of beer bread every day now. Thanks so much for giving something to look forward to while we're at work as well.
ReplyDeleteHow lucky you are to have such beautiful "wild" flowers blooming all over. Its star shape and color makes it look like a cross between a passion flower and a clematis.
ReplyDeleteI'm really happy to hear Cary is gaining weight and joining in lamb activities.
