  7. Great pics and about as close as I want to get to all that frost. I grew up in the SF Bay Area, and, when I moved to the East Coast, I cried every year about this time. Just hated the cold. And don't even get me started on the snow.

So, what part of CA are you from? We have some pretty cold areas, too. I'm in the Sonoma area now, and we get the occasional frosty morning. That's plenty for me.

  11. Ooh, it's pretty...now, don't laugh..but I'm guessing you'll get snow there, too? I've never known anyone from Missouri, so I am not familiar with the weather. I've been learning from you...so far I know that it gets really hot, and now I see it also gets pretty cold...

  13. I love these pictures. I love your blog, too. My goal is to pay off all school debt and go live on a farm somewhere, too. You show me it can be done.

  14. Hi Rae,
    Yep! : )

    Hi Sam,
Hmmmm. My suggestion for you when you miss frost? Head over the the Ferry Building Farmer's Market in the dead of winter and think of me, trapped under a layer of ice (but still eating well). : )

    Hi Kitchenmage,
    I love fall, too.

    Hi Alisha,
Yes, that swing has become quite famous! : )

    Hi Heather,
    'Heather (azure)'--got it.

    Hi Jeff,
    Wimp.

    Hi Anna,
I'll be sure to keep posting 'real weather' photos for you. : )

    Hi Baking Soda,
Yep, that's only fall. Just wait. . .

    Hi B'Gina,
Welcome to the farm! I grew up in Marin County, went to school in Berkeley for a bit, then migrated up to various parts of Sonoma County before moving to Missouri in 1994. My ex-husband and I actually had a small take-out restaurant for a while right off the square in Sonoma, but that was ages ago when it was still a pokey little (far from upscale) town. : )

    Hi Clare,
You'll be sweltering soon, and I'll be laughing all the way to our big pile of hats and gloves and scarves and boots and . . .

    Hi Nic,
    Suffering at 60F. Uh, right. : )
Actually, I think 60 degrees is about perfect.

    Hi Elizabeth,
Well what the heck is going on up there in Canada? Skipping right to winter this year?

    Hi Socalfoodie,
Oh, I'm not laughing. Geez, I didn't even know where Missouri was before I moved here, let alone what the weather was like. : )

Yep, it gets really hot. Then we have a few gloriously perfect weeks (that would be now). Then it gets really cold (think snow and ice and single digit F temps). Then we have a few more gloriously perfect weeks (that would be spring). Then it gets really hot again. After 11 years I'm still not quite used to the drastic changes, but it certainly keeps things interesting. : )

    Hi Walter,
So nice to hear from you. Thanks!

    Hi Lisette,
Thanks so much, and welcome to the farm! Thanks for taking the time to write. Yes, if you really want to do something, it can be done. Now things may not turned out exactly how you planned, but that's what makes it exciting, right? : )

December 2015 update: Hi! For some reason I can't figure out, Blogger hasn't been letting me leave comments on my own blog (!) for the last several months, so I've been unable to respond to your comments and questions. My apologies for any inconvenience! You're always welcome to email me: farmgirlfare AT gmail DOT com.

Hi! Thanks for visiting Farmgirl Fare and taking the time to write. While I'm not always able to reply to every comment, I receive and enjoy reading them all.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and I especially love hearing about your experiences with my recipes. Comments on older posts are always welcome!

Please note that I moderate comments, so if I'm away from the computer it may be a while before yours appears.

I try my best to answer all questions, though sometimes it takes me a few days. And sometimes, I'm sorry to say, they fall through the cracks, and for that I sincerely apologize.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope you enjoy your e-visits to our farm!
